Lakeway Inn & Conference Center Continues Green Program Initiative with 10 Year Agreement. The Lakeway Inn and Conference Center, continues to proactively promote Green Program actions by entering into a ten year contract with Standard Biodiesel . The Lakeway Inn and Conference Center will provide all used restaurant oil from the Oboe Cafe and Poppe's Bistro to Standard Biodiesel for use for alternate fuel sources.

 

Executive Chef David Peterson, whom spearheaded several Green initiatives in the kitchens of the Lakeway Inn, commented that the program provided by Standard Biodiesel, "provides an environmentally friendly response to a dirty and often troublesome product disposal". Further, Peterson commented that the "kitchen staff is challenged to come forward with new Green action initiatives and ideas for environmental  improvement."
